Gossips (#G Write πŸ“ it)

(The gossip’s side of the story)

I saw them. They walked so close to eachother.
Well it made me wonder
if it was right for him to have a girlfriend.
Of course, that is the new trend.
Sigh, sigh again.
Youth of nowadays.
“Flee from fornication”, the good old book says
but there he was taking a stroll with his girl.
I heard she’s called Pearl.
They didn’t hold hands but they kept looking at eachother.
Yes. She held an ice cream; he probably bought it for her.
Not that I should care
but I couldn’t keep it to myself.
He’s my son too so I had to tell
although I have a lot of issues on my shelf.
Yes, I decided to let you know
that the son you are trying to grow
is chasing after useless love. That I know

(My defence)
Oh yes, I may have been walking with a lass
but please I can’t let this pass.
I have to say my side of the story.
She’s just my friend there’s no need to worry.
Well, we live in a society
where people judge immediately they see.
Did I kiss her? No.
Were we holding hands? I doubt so.
No.
But as long as I took a stroll with a friend of mine,
my reputation is on the line.
You saw me with a girl. Does that mean we are in love?
If my temper was hotter than grandma’s coal stove,
you’d say my reaction was impolite.
I acknowledge the fact that gossips are part of life.
Talk about me. I’ll appreciate the fact that I am the glee
of your latest story.
It’s not so bad to be the centre of a topic.
Maybe you are a fan.
But to make the truth known
it was just a friendly stroll

Expectations 2 (#E2 Write πŸ“ it)

The story should have ended.
My words should cease.
But there is more to be authored
than readers to please.
Did I walk away?
No. Success had to pay
my hardwork and my strife without delay.
I did not end my quest
so be my guest
As the story unfolds.
I picked the cloth and felt the pattern
the fabric was a lantern
that shed light on the shadows of old.
As history began to unfold
I realised it, ajei, I see.
The cloth belongs to my mother.
The treasure my old man showed me
was more than anything that would make me richer:
It was a memory of our lover
My mother.
More than enough.
I took the chest and walked out of the cave.
